Be careful, don't do that!

According with some fdisk versions fdisk can use by default either sector mode or cylinder mode.

If you see 2048 then you are by default in sector mode. In the howto, when you must run a fdisk command, you need to add in the command line the flag -u to switch the mode.

thanks, sorry for type but there was a problem with my chines wireless keyboard.
with command U is all ok, but now I see a difference in partition 1 where blocks are not 257008 but are 256016. The other value is ok.
and the command dd if=/path-to-ulmage/ulmage-26394-nwsp1-5 of=/dev/sdc6 *with the right name of new file, not work *...dd: opening `/path-to-ulmage/ulmage-26394-nwsp1-5': No such file or directory
I-m looking for a solution
Code: Select all
Device Boot      Start         End      Blocks   Id  System
/dev/sdc1               1          32      256016   83  Linux
/dev/sdc2              33          64      257040   83  Linux
/dev/sdc3              65          96      257040   82  Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/sdc4              97       60801   487612912+   5  Extended
/dev/sdc5              97         144      384536   83  Linux
/dev/sdc6             145         145        7008+  83  Linux
/dev/sdc7             146         178      264048+  83  Linux
/dev/sdc8             179       60801   486953223+  83  Linux

this is my partition on 500 GB

So your partitions table is ok now.

(Note: as you use a 500Gb for testing I assume it is an old disk and it is not an Advanced Format disk. If yes, you had had to get some warnings about bad alignment partition. If later you use a newer disk, it should be an AF disk and in this case you need to use another partitions table.)

the command dd if=/path-to-ulmage/ulmage-26394-nwsp1-5 of=/dev/sdc6 *with the right name of new file, not work *...dd: opening `/path-to-ulmage/ulmage-26394-nwsp1-5': No such file or directory
Yes you are used the right name but you did not set the real path folder (path-to-uImage). You need to use the full path of the folder where you stored the firmware files
