hi almo65,

No, You can not use the upgrade menu with the version 5.1 (This menu can be use only with SPD8020 with this version)

Need time to find the easiest way to upgrade your NAS.

Ok,

I have still the scripts to upgrade the firmware between each version. You have to upgrade manually upto version 9.0 and then use the upgrade menu

But need to check if you have a right partition table to support later the upgrade menu.

So you could you post this output, I assume you have a SSH access with Putty
Code: Select all
fdisk /dev/sda
(then enter p)

So your partition table is ok.

there are two ways to upgrade your NAS :
-upgrade manually step by step 5.1 ->6.1; 6.1->7.0; 7.0->8.0; 8.0->9.0 and then install version 10.1 with the menu and if all is right install the last version
-dismount the hard disk out of the lacie casing and connect it to a PC running Linux and copy manually the firmware image version 10.1 and its kernel and then install the last version with the menu.

What do you prefer ?

Ok first step install version 6.1

So unzip twice the attached file in the share 'fvdw'. If you don't have yet this share, create it before.

Read the instruction in the Lacie upgrade to fvdw6-1 instruction.txt

At the step (f), you must use lc-upgd-fvdw5-1-to-6-1.sh.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
