No network

The network interface is not ccoming up. There should be at least flickering on led at connector for the LAN cable, if not I am afraid there is a damage to the mainboard.
Disconnect power and connect it again and carefully watch the LAN connector if shortly after power up there is no led flicker then my guess is that the LAN interface has died. In the initial phase of power up u-boot will activate the LAN interface regardless of the firmware on disk. if that doesn't happen then very likely the interface is broken. There is serial port but I think it won't help you to repair the LAN port

Do you talk about the led on the switch or on the nas ?
The led on the nas is blinking at powerup. But nothing at all on the switch.
Is it possible that U-boot get corrupted ?

No I mean a led near the connector for the LAN cable at the backside of the nwsp1 so not the blue power led
There should be a led luminating at the connector where you put your UTP cable into the connector of the LAN

Think u-boot is not the problem otherwise it would not load the firmware, only network interface seems to be dead

I have a similar trouble, but for me the leds on the switch are blinking a very short time and remain on.
Then, the nas doesn't get an IP (my DHCP serveur is OK).
This happened after one or two month with the NAS powered off.
The disk is good.
Any idea ? Network adapter broken ? Firmware corrupted ?
Thanks in advance.

are you sure you did not set a static IP address in the web interface ?

Yes i'm sure : before i switched it of it works well.
If I had set a static IP, it would have been in my local networks (192.168.1.xx).
Is there a way to set a static IP modifying the system files ? Maybe with a correct static IP it would work well...

Hi both,

I confirm that use an static IP with the NAS whereas you enabled the DHCP server on your router, is not able to prevent the NAS to connect to your LAN !

I use this configuration.

But the reverse case can occur issue : option DCHP enabled on the nas database and no DCHP server available with your router. So check if on your router, your DCHP is still enabled (or you have changed your local DNS/gateway : ie 192.168.1.1 instead of 192.168.0.1)

Hi,

My dhcp server is ok : it gives IP to all my network devices... except my nwsp1.

Is there a way to give a static IP to the nas my modifying config file ?
