Reset to fvdw default

Postby rounders13 » Wed Jan 30, 2013 3:59 am

Hi guys,

Thank you for the good work.

I just un-dusted my old vs1. It had 10-1 on it and behave very erratically. I tried flashing it with 14-1 but at best it gives me error "cannot rename the file" or something or simply crash and I have to reboot it 3 times just to get the http console or to ssh on it. Actually even when I manage to get it working and let it be with 10-1, it stills crash and I still have a hard time to regain access...

Long story short, I would like to reset it to default or the best would be to find a way to put 14-1. But as long as it works stable as a NAS and DLNA server I would be happy :-)

Any suggestion?

Big thanks in advance,

My suggestion would be to repeat the first time install procedure.

ps the fact that the firmware doesn't run stable is not normal, this device might have a hardware problem if it still is instable after a new install

I'm now able to SSH in it but it rejects my password. Tried with my actual pwd and giveit2me with no luck.
Anyway I can get out of this loop?

I apologize if that was already answered somewhere in the forum.

Thank you fvdw

Nothing to worry...

yes, you can already find this information in this post : http://www.plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1000&p=5846&hilit=giveit2me#p5846

Remember : after upgrading the firmware, the custom password is resetting and you must use "giveit2me"
