Should I turn off my NAS when not using it?

Hi,
I'm trying to understand if I should turn off my NAS (pushing the power button on its case) when not using it.

This is due to 2 issues:
  1. the blue led is quite annoying;
  2. save energy.

Point 1 is solved by disabling the blue led via the web interface admin panel ;)
Point 2: is there a sleep mode activated by default after a specified amount of time (of inactivity)? Maybe a wake on lan?

Thanks in advance, bye bye!

Hi tilt_from_arch,

Currently, you can only plan with cron :
- a standby with a wake on lan
- a standby with an auto-wake-up after a delay and/or a wake on lan

Thank you Jocko,
so I should set a cron job, but until now I just used the web interface, I suppose I need the ssh to set a cron job, am I wrong?
Could you please address me to some guides or how-to, please?
Maybe this task is too difficult for my current knowings :P

:disapprove
on the web-interface, there is a cron menu to activate cron and also a menu to schedule servers
(read their help page to understand how to plan a job)

Tomorrow I'll gove it a try, thank you again; now let me head to my bed, because 1) I'm tired and 2) this smiley is so cute :z)
