No database in minidlna after update FW / spd8020 to 15.0

Good morning fvdw,

yesterday I have done the work via IE9 under Win7/64.
I started from vers. 14.0, Never ever any Problems since the first days updates.
The NAS was ok just before this Update.
At the end I have no database in minidlna after update FW / spd8020 to 15.0 when I try to open it from the TV.
A rebuild, a reset, a restart by web console nothing happend.
I have Access via FTP and Total Commander, all data available.

Please help.

which TV do you have ?
minidlna was upgrade in 15-0 maybe it lost compatibility with your TV

In that case we could install the previous version of minidlna

Hallo fvdw,

thank you for your answer.
I have the Problem on both of my TV´s.
The one is the SAT Receiver UFS-922 and the other one is a Panasonic TX-L32.

Both show me:
\MiniDLNA\Pictures\Folders\...
but there is nothing in the ... to open or to load.

Additional I have tested a VLC Player under WIN7.
There I can open the next Subdirectory (e.g. Name of the actor with the Pictures, Videos or Music in but it shows empty.
When I open the same Directory via Total Commander I can see the files and start the Music or video or Picture.

The web interface shows always"ok".

Note:
Under WIN8.1 /64 (IE 11) I have the following indications:
When I use the Menus on the lh side sometime I get the message from the web side:

"Please check the xsl or XML file"

This happen on Ver. 14.0 also, for this reason I did the Installation under Win7/64.

maybe you need to rebuild the database of minidlna.
Jocko made some enhancements to the menu to select files the last firmware 15-0. But also the new version of minidlna might not be compatible with the old database and may need rebuilding

So open the webinterface and open media server minidlna page and reset the database file using the button (this will only delete the database itself it will not delete any media file on your nas).
Note If you have many media files it might take some time on your spd8020 to rebuild the minidlna database

the reset I did yesterday night with 8 houres to finish the new daabase and in the morning I did the the rebuild but no success until now.

What is the next step

(PS I can sent you the previous version of minidlna if you want, are you familiar with connecting ssh server ?)

not realy but with a good description from you I can try it.
I have no Linux Access at the Moment.
Do I Need this?

I prepared a patch file for you you can use the file upload menu in the webinterface to install it.
(read the help text for that menu, its easy)
It will mention if the patch has been installed succesfully

Before installing it stop the minidlna server !
The patch will overwrite the exiting minidlna executable with the one form version 14-0

When installation has been ok, start minidlna again

Hello fvdw,

after about 2 houres I have checked the Server on TV - same as before.

Is it normal for a rebuild of the database not to see any flickering on the LED or hear the spinning of the HD?

Do I have a serious Problem during the update - SW file corruption or so?
