WebDav on HTTPS

WebDav on HTTPS

Postby marioth1 » Sat Aug 24, 2013 10:28 pm

Hello,

I just installed the newest version of fvdw and I'm trying to connnect to
my SPD8020 WebDav Service via HTTPS but I can't get it to work.

Port 443 is forwarded, connexion over TLS/SSL in Main-Setup is enabled, folder is shared, certificate is created,
credentials are defined an pure webaccess works, but I am unable to upload to the webdav server via 443.
Upload over Port 80 is working.

Also mapping the webdav share in Windows 8 to a drive letter is not possible, neither with http nor https.

Am I missing something or is it just not implemented yet?

best regards
Mario

I will have a look at it mario but this part is Jocko's expertise and he is not around right now. In principle what you described should be possible. I use webdav myself over https and it works without a problem. It has been a while that I have set it up. I will check my router settings

I checked it and everything is working ok
This my setup
- in router port 443 is forwarded to the nas
- in system management lan setup the https is enabled (incl certificate setup)
- and in webtools, webdav ..the webdav serverisenabled and also the shares I want to be able to access via webdav

To make a connection using explorer:
use option make network connection and use as folder name https://wan-ip-of-your-router/share-name
replace "wan-ip-of your-router" by the actual wan ip of your router and "share-name" by the actual (webdav) folder name
example assuming you enabled the share "mario" to be available in webdav server
Code: Select all

Hi,

I've got both working now. My fault, on the client pc I installed the root-certificate in the wrong container...

In the help-page I read "To install the certificate in IE, just click on the file and follow the standard instructions to the end."
But (at least in IE11) it is then automatically installed to "Intermediate CA" rather than "Trusted Root CA".

There is no hint that I need to install the Certificate in Internet Explorer to use Drive-Mappings although it is indeed logical...
Maybe you could change that hint.

thank you for your help

best regards
