Hey, thanks for the super quick reply! I have now tried the older firmware and while uploading it gave the same error: "error". Next days I'll probably remove the hard drive and will partition it following the instructions. Maybe it works then! First, many thanks and I will report. greeting

As promised, am back! Everything worked great! Thank you! A small note: for ubuntu run the command "fdisk-u = cylinders /dev/sdb" and not "fdisk /dev/sdb".

Small problem have left. I wanted to install the last patch, and do not come to share directory. Is the only way always to connect the hard drive to a PC?

Ah, the webinterface has become slower, is this normal?

to install a patch you need to create a shared folder with name "fvdw" first and put the patch file in there (read the help page for that menu).
You can access the nas via LAN using several ways (samba (explorer), ftp, nfs...)

The web interface can get slower if you start media servers and other features. The spd8020 has only 16MB of RAM so you can not use everything at the same time.

Since I still can't logon to admin with webinterface....
Is there any way I can manage or reset the webinterface accounts via tghe SSH session using root ID??
