difficult to say what it is doing, you could reboot it and see what happens. Sometimes it is the (marvell) mediaserver in this original firmware causing this issue. Deactivate it, if in use and see if then stops, smae for other ervers like ftp

YES ! It looks like once again you were right !
After deactivation of MultimediaServer (automatically reactivated after firmware update ???) NAS stopped working all the time for nuts !
(What can this MediaServer do when nothing and nobody ask him to do something ?!)
And speed is normal now (at least as "fast" as it used to be...)
Thank you from Belgium :-)

Here is the answer received from Philips Support 12 days after my question :

"
Dear,

Thank you for your e-mail! I understand that your SPD8020CC/10 gives the error message that there isn't enough space, but your computer says it still has space enough to store your files.

What I advise you is to reset your SPD8020CC/10. This can be done by pressing the reset button, the button next to the Philips logo on the side, for 5 seconds. Your files will stay on your SPD8020CC/10, but it will be resetted.

If that doesn't work, you can try the advanced reset. This can be done by the following steps:
1. Power off the NAS.
2. Unplug the NAS
3. Press the resetbutton and keep it pressed in
4. Plug the power back in and keep the reset button pressed for about 5 seconds.

Your SPD8020CC/10 will reset again, there might be loss of data.

Could you let me know if this solved your problem?

Kind regards,

Oxxx Rxxxxxxx
