After rebuilding the database, the led is still flashing an the hd is working.

I stopped the media server.

After resarting without rebuilding, the database will be rebuild.

Why?
With V6.1 there was no problem.

I assume you upgraded to fvdw-sl-8-0

In 8-0 a newer version of minidlna is included. That version needs a different databse setup thats why it needs to be recreated.
If you strated the minidlan server while having the database of the old version then it might have caused this problem.

Is the system now running ok ater stopping the mediaserver and after recreation of the database ?
If not stop the server and use the reset database button in the minidlna menu to delete the database. Then fire up minidlna and it should create the database again for this newer version
