Srn21c is a seagate personal cloud, I will move this topic to the correct sub forum.
I assume you use the fvdw-sl console and standalone kernel for installation, is that correct?
If the installer cannot find sda then it means your harddisk must be defective. Does the disk spin up after the standalone kernel is loaded?

yes that's right i use fvdw-sl console and standalone kernel for installation.
the hard drive spins after the standalone kernel is loaded.
What's the effect on the hard drive format, sir?
Previously the hard drive was a former Windows 7 OS and I haven't formatted it before using the fvdw-sl console.

Two suggestions:

1. When running standalone kernel, what does this command gives as output
Code: Select all
fdisk -l

2. Can you post the output of this command
Code: Select all
dmesg

(The telnet window has option to copy output in telnet window)

Your disk or disk interface (sata port) of the seagate may be defective. But if the disk works on your windows PC it could be an issue with your power supply of the seagate. Not enough power to spin up and run the disk
