LaCie D2 network V2K

LaCie D2 network V2K

Postby rudyparis » Mon Jan 30, 2023 10:03 pm

Hi,

I have a LaCie D2 network V2k.
1 HDD inside which was unserviceable.

I bought a fresh new one disk (same size)
I formatted it with windows.

I've used FVDW-SL console 6 to install on my nas:

kirkwood firmware (image)
everything worked as described in the instructions installating fdsw-sl firmware.
When DTelnet opened, everytime I have the message Telnet connection time out. Even after several minutes, using "connect"

I'm using windows 10, activated telnet on windows features.

I'm stuck at step 7 : I can't log as root and password giveit2me as there is no connection.

Could you help me to solve this problem ?

thanks by advance,
rudyparis

This is wrong
You have to use the standalone kernel version which starts a telnet server.
So use this image : UIMAGE-3142-KIRKWOOD-171-standalone

You do not need to enable the window telnet feature. fvdw-sl console provides a telnet client

Hi Jocko

Following your instructions, I gave life to my old Lacie D2N2 Nas ;)
Thanks a lot for your great job !

Of course, I'll make a donation and if could give me access to addon, that will be great.

Next days, I'll try to understand how to do the settings to see my Lacie on my local network, and add a link on windows 10 to grant access

Many thanks Jocko ;)

Hi Jocko,

Am I a registered donator to grant access to add-on ?

Best regards

Hi

If your question is because you fail to download some add-on packages, maybe you did not notice this topic :

So you have to install a patch first.

Hi Jocko,

Is the USB extra type B available or will be available one day to connect the nas to a PC ?

I'd like to do a partition on the nas especially for raspberry boot via berryboot. Don't know how to partition the nas with the console v18.2.

Hi,

Maybe the solution is to create an iscsi target on my LAcie D2 network 2 nas ?
But is this possible ?
I read posts for another nas (5bg..)

Could you help me with instructions and files to add and how to create that target ?
I'm a bit lost ;(

regards
