Postby Cricrou59 » Sun Jun 09, 2019 8:26 am

Hi all,

I'm trying to install firmware on a Lacie 5 Big Network 1 (Orion) with only left disk and I Don't manage to issue. I have read the topic about this problem "Time out" with Telnet. I've tried many ways to resolve it, but I'm having always the same issue.

I have trying with a pc with Windows XP and Avast/Firewall Windows disable and still the same.
I have a fiber box sfr with Firewall disable.
Please any help to tell me what to do ?
Thanks

So kernel file file is ok.

Additional information about timeout issue, check if :
- ip xxx.yyy.zzz.252 is not used by a host on your LAN
- ip xxx.yyy.zzz.252 is an allowed address by your free box
- after disabling any firewall, the main thing is to have only one iface card enabled on your PC. Please to note 'to be disconnected' is not enough, you need to disable the card.

Ok we will try to get a telnet access manually.

- CLose any fvdw-sl windows : fvdw-sl console; tftpd, nc
- start again fvdw-sl console
- from fvdw-sl console window, start tftp server and U-boot console
Then on nc window, you must have this message
Code: Select all
provided by fvdw
waiting for u-boot..

So start your 5big1 and wait until you get this message
Code: Select all
starting u-boot net console click on window and press enter

After pressing Enter, you should get the "Marvell" prompt

So do
Code: Select all
Marvell>> setenv ipaddr ${ipaddr}
Marvell>> setenv serverip ${serverip}
Marvell>> setenv bootargs console=ttyS0,115200 netconsole=6666@${ipaddr}/,6666@${serverip}/
Marvell>> tftpboot 0x800000 UIMAGE-26394-5BIG1-45-standalone

Then you should get this output like this
Code: Select all
Using egiga0 device
TFTP from server 192.168.1.12; our IP address is 192.168.1.252
Filename 'UIMAGE-3142-KIRKWOOD-158-standalone'.
Load address: 0x800000
Loading: #################################################################
         #################################################################
         #################################################################
         #################################################################
         #################################################################
         #################################################################
         #################################################################
         #################################################################
         #################################################################
         #################################################################
         #################################################################
         #################################################################
         #################################################################
         #################################################################
         #################################################################
         #################################################################
         #################################################################
         ###########################################
done
Bytes transferred = 5876336 (59aa70 hex)
then type the command 'bootm' and you should get this new output:
Code: Select all
Marvell>> bootm
bootm
