With a little personal effort, you got there.

For the other disks, next step is here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1271. So read and follow instructions

Hi

You did not read this point from the help page:
Switch off your nas before adding the other disks in the free slots and then reboot.
Preferable to disk should have no partition table. In any case they should NOT contain a fvdw-sl system disk partition table nor a kernel nor our firmware.
This point is very important with a 2big1 or 5big1. These additional disks formatted by LACIE firmware contain a kernel partition.

So you need to delete partitions on the additional disks before plugging them in the 5big1. You can use your disk manager provided by the OS of your laptop (=> plug directly these disks on it)

yes i can do this but isnt it strange that the NAS wont get an ip anymore?
even when i have the 1 disk connected or any disks at all.
It happend when i logged in on the webbase and try to reboot the nas(didnt work) so i did it by hand.
What can i do to get the ip working again ?

In which slot is the disk were you installed the firmware?
It should be in most lefthand side slot seen from the back
