So this is the thing:
Our NAS suddenly died after pushing the off button(strange)
After restarting 1 of the 5 disks gives a red blinking led. I can see the website of the lacie but none of my passwords work(strange)
I tried resetting to factory by pushing the button on front but it doesnt work(must i put the broken disk out or? put all disks out?
well would be nice to have the data back but this isnt a show stopper so what must i do to have a new raid with the 4 disks which i can connect to?
anyone can help me with the following:
----get te factory reset to work
----or install lacie or custom firmware to have a new nas with 4 disks.
---we dont have support from lacie anymore

Hi poilopil,
The first thing to do before removing a disk or anything else is to detect the current raid state.
So first download the fvdw-sl console (
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2691). Please read fully the topic (and even twice time).
Open a telnet window on your NAS; upload mdadm binary (you will find several topics how to do it)
Then post:
- Code: Select all
mdadm --examine /dev/sd[abcde]2

Please read the topic I gave previously!
All required information is here and fvdw-sl console has its own help pages
There are several topics about fvdw-sl console and there is a search button to find them on the board

It is succesfull and i made an rdr iso file of it. Anyone else know this program or can advice me an other tool?
i whant to see the directorys and files which i can copy.

Hi poilopil,
So you want to install our fw.
If you have assembled the partitions 2, you should see a folder 'shares' which contains your private or public shares. All your data are here.

If the firmware is not running well, to have or not a ping is not significant.
So about connection issue, read the last fvdw's post:

usually, you should not need to enter manually the nas ip :if all is ok, fvdw-sl console must know it. :scratch
if your ipmask is xxx.yyy.zzz.0/24 (ex 192.168.1.0/24), NAS IP must be xxx.yyy.zzz.252 or xxx.yyy.zzz.251 (so 192.168.1.252 or 192.168.1.251)
