Release notes version fvdw-sl 12-0 15 March 2012

12.0.1 New application: "Web-explorer"
This application allows you to share files from anywhre in your LAN and the internet using a standard browser like Firfox and Internet explorer.
Remark : with nwsp1 or spd8020, the loading time of pages can be long if you use other services at the same time.

12.0.2 New (Only nwsp2 and isp1): Option to select memory level allocated to the web server

12.0.3 New: support of SFTP protocol for the FTP server
This will enable you to transfer files with FT server over a secure SSH2 channel

12.0.4 New: support SFTP protocol via SSH server (for example for use with WinSCP)

12.0.5 New menus for NFS server
Now it is much easier to setup and control the NFS server , also for less experienced users

12.0.6 New: Integration of p910nd print server
This application makes it possible to connect usb printers to the NAS and print from anywhere in the LAN to this printer.

12.0.7 New: Sleepmode with WOL support
This application enables you to switch the NAS to standby and wake it up by sending a WOL magic packet (WOL = Wake On Lan)
In this mode the NAS is not completely switched off, the cpu and network card are powered and active, but hard disk is switched off.

12.0.8 New: Temperature guard daemon
This application will shutt down the NAS when the hard disk exceeds a maximum temperature. You can set two levels and enable or disable this daemon. This application is especially useful on the Lacie devices without a fan. The application will only work if the hard disk in your NAS supports the "standard" commands to read temperature of the disk.

12.0.9 New: notification when a new firmware is available
Only works when NAS has access to the internet. If you enable this feature, a message will be displayed in the Information menu if you don't have the last version.

12.0.10 New: support for UTF-8 (en_US) when using command line via SSH client

12.0.11 New: support to make or extract xz or lzma archives, only via command line in this version.

12.0.12 Improvement: Menus will only show features that are for the NAS on which the firmware is running,
So for instance options valid only for the nwsp2 will not be shown when running the firmware on spd8020.

12.0.13 Improvement: Optimization of the feature "Languages​​".
This will allow us to extend the translations in next releases without degrading the performance of small NAS (NWSP vs1 and SPD8020

12.0.14 Improvement: new layout of several tables and more translations of several menus
Not all menus are fully translated in th language you use, but we are making progress
(Only English, French, German and Dutch are currently supported, see general remark)

12.0.15 Improvement: you can now mount a remote share that has name containing space chars
The page loading is also quicker (mainly with nwsp1 and spd8020)

12.0.16 Upgrade: upgrade of binary wget to GNU Wget 1.11.4 instead of busybox version.
This enables using it in torrentflux to download links and use more options (for future use in the webinterface or command line)

12.0.17 Upgrade: FTP server to proftpd version 1.3.4a

12.0.18 Upgrade: Twonkyserver to version 6.0.39
It will not be installed automatically, if you have already the previous version 6.0.34 running you need to install 6.0.38 again. This is easy by clicking the button install twonky 6 in the web interface
If all goes well your settings should be not affected

12.0.19 Upgrade : Transmission torrent client to version 2.50

12.0.20 Bug fixes
fixed: the backup command fails when the share "fvdw" doesn't exist
fixed: The FTP server does not start with the following setting, FTPS option is enabled, DHCP option is enabled in the LAN Setup menu, and no manual IP address filled in a previous configuration.
fixed: The share "mediatomb" is not visible via samba server (as for example used by windows explorer to access the NAS) after installing mediatomb. In the file share menu of the webinterface the share is present. This bug was only present in fvdw-sl-11-0 nwsp2 release.

12.0.21 Removed: marvel media server
