Welcome and general information

Welcome to the new forums at plugout.net!

These forums were created to provide support for an alternative firmware (fvdw-sl) developed for use on the PHILIPS SPD8020 and LACIE Network space vs1, vs2 Internet space and more NAS devices.
These devices come from the supplier with a limited software package. Our alternative firmware greatly enhances the possibilities of these devices, like adding users, setting read/write rights per user and share, several media servers like firefly, twonky, mediatomb and minidlna, several files servers like samba, NFS and FTP, an SSH server and also some torrent clients, task scheduler, backup features. Its amazing what you can get out of this tiny little devices.

In the past the firmware was posted on the convopit forum. Unfortunately that forum has been stopped after a major melt down of the server. But we owe Convopit and the site administrator Capmaster a big THANK YOU for letting us posting there the firmware and the upgrades, many people have enjoyed the upgrades, the firmware was downloaded by more then 1000 users. An enthusiastic user (Julien) that approach me to make the firmware suitable for the Lavie nwsp vs 1 and tested it successfully offered to open a dedicated forum for this firmware after closing down of Convopit. Thank you Julien ! and here we are on plugout.net

As there are were a significant amount of users of our firmware and there seems to be interest in further upgrades we decided to make a dedicated forum and see what comes out of it. In principle there is no limitation what we could add to this firmware, the only limiting factor is time...remember we do this as a hobby.

disclaimer:
Please note that the warranty of the supplier of your device will be voided by installing this software. All software added and used is based on open source software or newly written. Installing and using this software implies you accept all possible risks, responsibilities, liabilities and consequences. Using it is fully at your own risk.

Anyhow we hope you appreciate that we make this firmware and upgrades available to you and looking forward to your inputs and feedbacks

The download forum is only accessible for registered users. So register first if you want to have access to it.

Have a nice day! :D

E-mail rules

Postby Jocko » Wed Apr 16, 2014 12:37 pm

To avoid some issues with our host provider, the e-mail in the member account must remain valid.

So when we receive some e-mail errors from the provider or you do not follow these rules :
- the account will be removed if the e-mail is in a black list, it is a disposable or free email address or uses a catch-all server, uses a grey listing,... without any warning (in some case you may get a spam status)
- if it is an active account (several posts),we will send a pm and the member must update the account within 8 days otherwise his account will be deleted.
- For the other accounts, we will deactivate them without sending a pm. To reactivate the account, the member must send a mail to admin@plugout.net (and so with a valid e-mail). if within 30days no mail is sent, the account will be deleted.

In reliance on your understanding
