It is fvdw who is the expert for uboot. What you can do and I think he also go to ask you to try :
Stil from a uboot window, do
Code: Select all
version

ide reset

ide info

bootm
(bootm should load the kernel on sda6...)

So post all these output

almost good,

Code: Select all
ide reset
run boot_disk1

only if the last command loads a kernel do
Code: Select all
bootm 0x400000

If this works than the problem is that the lump value is preventing the normal boot. This could have to do with the position of the switch on the back of the 2big1. At which position is it ? safe100 or big ?
A forgot in which position it must be. Just switch it to the other position and try if it boots

I tried both positions - no boot

Now its on "big" position

That looks not good.
your boot loader doesn't detect your disks, the ide reset command should show some info on the disk attached to the sata interface.
Did you have disks inside when you made this trial, and in safe100 do you get more output
It should look similar to this
Code: Select all
Marvell>> ide reset
ide reset

Reset IDE:
Marvell Serial ATA Adapter
Integrated Sata device found
[0 0 0]: Enable DMA mode
  Device 0 @ 0 0:
Model: SAMSUNG HD103SI                          Firm: 1AG01118 Ser#: S1Y5JDWZ626                                             309
            Type: Hard Disk
            Supports 48-bit addressing
            Capacity: 953869.7 MB = 931.5 GB (6391452 x 0)

If the bootloader doens't see the disks it can't load a kernel or firmware.
What kind of partition table di you use to prepare the disk, you should use ms-dos and NOT GPT

Hi jungfitche,

What you may do to check if it is a disk issue is to use your 2d disk instead of the current disk in the left slot.

So keep the switch on the position big and install the firmware on the 2d disk still by using a ms-dos partition table (do not plug the first disk in the right slot)

And try to reboot the NAS

If all is ok it is an issue on the first disk.

Hi jocko, hi fvdw,
i used the second drive to install the fvdw-firmware and the NAS boots :rock
After this i deleted the partition table on the old /dev/sda. I use this drive now in the right slot as /dev/sdb
Of course i could build the raid successfully if i use fdisk instead gdisk :shocked
Is was my fault not to read the sentence
Code: Select all
With a gpt partition you must use gdisk and in the other case use fdisk (the system type code is then 'fd' instead of 'fd00')
till the end. :hammerhead :pound :sob

Thank you for your support :applause :hail

Best regards

Nice to see you succeeded to get your raid at the end :thumbup

Any how that means there is something wrong on the 'first disk' :scratch
