Won't boot: Ethernet light slow blink and clicking

Hello!

I've had the latest fvdw-sl installed for a few years and have had great success with it on my cloudbox.

Recently I unplugged my cloudbox for a few weeks, and when I plug it back in to power + ethernet, the drive does not spin up, but instead just slowly flashes the green ethernet light and emits a quiet 'click', every few seconds in time with the light.

I've checked the power supply and it's putting out ~12v, so I think that is good. But I'm a bit stumped as to what to do next. Is my drive dead? Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you!

When harddisks fail sometimes they make this clicking sound.so it could be a died disk. But still it could also be the power supply.
The power supply may give 12 v when not loaded (not connected to the nas) but when connected to the nas and under load to start the disk the voltage may drop and the disk may to complete start, shutdown and repeat attempting to start the nas/disk.
