No it actually doesn't light up, i already expected it to be broken.
Is there any common way to fix the LED easily, without any big effort?

Just found this topic. I have the same issue here: blue LED never flashing according to NAS activity as it should. I know it's working as it very briefly flashes upon booting, though. A minor annoyance for me as I soldered a yellow LED to the LAN link LED to know when the NAS is actually connected.

Still, it would be great if it were working, though I won't go as far as changing the kernel.

Hi

Led behaviour bug on disk accesses is still open (kernel fix not yet found). See https://plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3384&p=15767#p15767

Hi all, I have the white cloudbox running fvdw-sl v. 18-2, the LED works fine, only the settings are the opposite, so it is set to OFF and the "status at boot" is set to LED Off at next boot

It is quite the opposite, but I wouldn't complain :punk

Hi

Thank you for this feedback...
Did you have the same behaviour with old fw version ? for example with version 16.1 (which used an old kernel version : 3.14.2)

No it was working fine on older version, I forgot which version to be honest, it was in late 2017.

ok!
We go to check if with old kernel version, all is right.

First install kernel modules for version 3.14.2 on your nas:
- store the tarball in the share fvdw
$matches[2]

- uncompress the archive
Code: Select all
tar -xf /direct-usb/fvdw/modules-3.14.2-kirkwood.gz -C /
You should have now some files here
Code: Select all
ls -l /lib/modules/3.14.2

unzip the kernel image in the subfolder tftp of fvdw-sl console on your laptop
UIMAGE-3142-NWSP2CL-8.zip

stop the nas and start fvdw-sl console

Then run the action "External kernel, load and start" and select the kernel image UIMAGE-3142-NWSP2CL-8

So check if the led commands are ok

To restore the current kernel you have only to reboot the nas
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
