Hi

I created a new topic...(Please to use your own topic)

Your nas is not detected after the first installation or after upgrading the firmware ?
(in the topic where you posted it was after a first installation and not after upgrading as you wrote)

After the first installation, I used the firmware 18.0.

Ok

So it is an issue on the first install.

Do you have a dhcp server available on your LAN (should be available via your router) ?

if you use fvdw-sl assistant, this one detects it ?

Yes, the dhcp is active on the router and I tried to find the NAS by fvdw-sl assistant and also I tried on the network map but nothing. The only thing is that the router was configured to .239 and the subnet is 192.168.104.*

This is not an issue.

A basic point, do you keep the 2d disk in its slot (right disk when you see the disk slots) whereas it still contains lacie files ? if yes you should try to restart the nas without it and see what happens

If I keep only the left disk, the lacie firmware start and I see the NAS. If I keep the right disk, I don't see nothing

well. It is the expected behaviour
It is clearly warned in the fvdw-sl console topic
-If you have a multi disk nas and use the fvdw-sl console and standalone kernel install only 1 disk in the nas in slot 1 (most lefthand slot seen from back) to prepare the system disk.

Now you have two ways to initialize the 2d disk:
- plug the 2d disk on a laptop and remove all partitions on it and then you will be able to start the nas with both disks
- start the nas with only the left disk and then do an hot-plug with the 2d

Then use the web-interface : load the disk setup menu; click on the button "Initialize hard disks and volume", sdb should be listed either on the first or second table, select sdb disk and submit it

So we need to investigate sda (it is the system disk with our firmware)

So use again fvdw-sl console but this time select as action "Standalone, load and start". Like previously you have to select as kernel, the standalone kernel image for kirkwood (UIMAGE-3142-KIRKWOOD-171-standalone).

When you get the console, run these outputs
Code: Select all
gdisk -l /dev/sda
mkdir /sda7 /sda5
mount /dev/sda7 /sda7
mount /dev/sda5 /sda5
ls -l /sda7
ls -l /sda5
cat /sda7/boot.log
cat /sda5/installer.log

Please to post the output of these commands
