Which firmware are you using? I guess lacie as fvdw-sl doesn't give these kind of message. Using smb2 has as far as I know no advantage for security. Smb2 is supported in samba server version 3.6 and higher. However it uses mire cpu and ram and your nas it will slow down transfer because cpu power and ram size is limited

I'm adding some information on this.
I have a Lacie network space v2 with a brand new firmware update to 17.0.
I tried to connect to the nas with a PC with Windows 10 Pro updated to version 1709 (I think but I'm not sure anyway version on command prompt is 10.0.16299.492) and it says the same as ngc2392.
I try to translate the error message because my windows is in italian :)
You cannot connect to this file because is not safe. This connection requires obsolete protocol SMB1 that is not safe blablabla. The system requires SMB2 or later version. For any information check on https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=852747 .
Hope this help

I quick checked on the internet but without any fast and simple solution ;)
The fast one was update the nas firmware, but no solution found :(
I will check asap (but won't be so soon) and let you know if I will find something.

windows 10 pro newer version have by default smb1 not installed but you can enable it by installing using install windows features
see for instance here some examples
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Fo ... progeneral

You must go to Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows Features On or Off, then turn SMB1 on.

ps I also use windows 10 pro 1709 build 16299.492
