Postby ngc2392 » Sat Nov 04, 2017 6:45 pm

ok guys, i succesfully updated my lacie from 15 to 16.1. now i want to patch this thing i can't figure it out how...
- i created fvdw folder in share
- i copied that zip there
- just to be sure i also extracted zip in the same folder
- when i click that menu button in patch menu i don't see the file zip...

there is blank folder all the time...so, how to show lacie where the zip file is?

thanks

Just to be sure. Can you post a screen capture when you click on the button "..."

And from a shell terminal, the output of
Code: Select all
ls -l /direct-usb
ls -al /direct-usb/

Hi,

As you have a windows laptop, you can use putty to get a shell terminal (I'd rather you do not use the web console from the fvdw-sl web-interface)

Please to post also the output of
Code: Select all
 grep '<sharename>fvdw<' -A 27 /etc/nas_conf_db.xml

Ok but

-To have version 16.0 does not explain why there is this issue
ngc2392 wrote: when i click that menu button in patch menu I don't see the file zip...
(and never you will be able to install a patch :scratch )
-Anyhow you go to still install first version 16.1 if you want to install a later version

Note:
Get a shell terminal on a windows laptop is easy :
* download putty http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgta ... nload.html and open an access on the ssh server => use as remote server your nas name or its IP and the port 22
* login is root and pwd giveit2me

drwxrwxrwx 3 root root 4096 2017-11-05 11:28 ..
drwxrwxrwx 19 root root 4096 2017-11-11 03:54 DATA

Ok I think I understand the issue.

I believe you created fvdw as a subfolder in your share "DATA".
In fact, you must create another share "fvdw" by using the menu "File share management" and store here the patch

---edit---
grep is a linux command and I asked this command line to detect if you have really a share fvdw set in the nas conf database
Code: Select all
grep '<sharename>fvdw<' -A 27 /etc/nas_conf_db.xml

So you should be able now to install the patch :thumbup

But it is not clear for me what is the current state of your nas :
-using version 16.0 or version 16.1 ?

You can not install the rollup patch for version 16.1 on a firmware version 16.0.

Then you need
-first to upgrade your NAS to version 16.1 with the usual way (upload the bin file)
- install the rollup patch
- reboot the nas
- reload the web-interface
- go to the upgrade menu and ask to get the latest version
