So stop the raid md124

Code: Select all
mdadm -S /dev/md124

Try to create again md4 but with this line
Code: Select all
mdadm --assemble /dev/md4 /dev/sdb2 --force --run

and see if the raid device has an active status
Code: Select all
cat /proc/mdstat

See you later
:z)

Hello Jocko,
Thanks a lot your explanation. I've been able to assemble the md4 (see the post)
Code: Select all
root@ubuntu:~# mdadm -S /dev/md124
mdadm: stopped /dev/md124
root@ubuntu:~# mdadm --assemble /dev/md4 /dev/sdb2 --force --run
mdadm: /dev/md4 has been started with 0 drives (out of 2) and 1 rebuilding.
root@ubuntu:~# cat /proc/mdstat

md4 : active raid1 sdb2[1]

HURRAY : DATA ARE VISIBLE AND I CAN BACKUP THEM
:-)

Next step would be to delete the hard disk and recreate completely as original LaCie with Firmware LaCie. DO you know the best workaround for that or should I use the procedure available at : http://lacie.nas-central.org/wiki/Insta ... ks_(2Big_2)

Awaiting for your advices, but not urgent. I know you have plenty to do

Regards,
