USB problem

Postby marcin » Sun Feb 26, 2017 3:44 pm

Hello,
2big network vs2 I have for a long time, but recently I wanted to connect the usb hdd and unfortunately the device does not see the disk.
is it normal? if anything we can do?

This is the view information from the items:
USB-devices:

T: Bus=01 Lev=00 Prnt=00 Port=00 Cnt=00 Dev#= 1 Spd=480 MxCh= 1
D: Ver= 2.00 Cls=09(hub ) Sub=00 Prot=01 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=1d6b ProdID=0002 Rev=03.14
S: Manufacturer=Linux 3.14.2 ehci_hcd
S: Product=EHCI Host Controller
S: SerialNumber=orion-ehci.0
C: #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=e0 MxPwr=0mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=09(hub ) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=hub

I'll put the disc with the original firmware everything works correctly
what is wrong?

Hi marcin,

So only the hub device is listed.

You can try first to update the USB device database.

So on a shell windows do:
Code: Select all
/usr/sbin/update-usbids.sh -q 1

then unplug/plug your disk and see if it is detected

Unfortunately, after the command is executed the effect is still the same as before. The only difference is when you reboot you will see that at the moment the LED power in usb disk, but in a moment off.

this is dmesg:

Hi

At least you have another issue :
Code: Select all
[   22.028573] rtc-mv rtc-mv: internal RTC not ticking
...
[   22.255288] drivers/rtc/hctosys.c: unable to open rtc device (rtc0)
What kernel version do you use ? it seems to be 3.14.2

But I don't think it is related to the USB issue.
Do you have the same issue if you plug another USB disk ?

Otherwise, unplug your usb drive, start the debug mode
Code: Select all
/etc/nas_status.sh --start-debug
, plug again the disk, wait around 10s and post the content of
Code: Select all
/var/log/messages

After you have to stop the debug mode
Code: Select all
/etc/nas_status.sh --stop-debug

Post also
Code: Select all
cat /proc/partitions
