ok, thanks for the reply. I saw that in some Lacie it is possible to install Debian, even for the 5big? in that case, it would be easier to find a compiled driver

With a debian kernel you will not have features as we have now; n our kernel. You will need a specific config and setup file to compile it for this motherboard. I see no real advantage. If you want wifi you could consider using an usb dongle. There some topics in the forum were users installed one.
Compiling a driver is easy by the way if it us available in mainline linux kernel source. But a kernel recompile or jernel module compile will be required.
