no ip address, unable to access the NAS

Could be a power supply issue, if the power supply is not strong enough to start the disk then the board will see it as power failure and reboot.
You could try to see if standalone kernel loads without any disk installed. On the serial interface you can see what is happening . The standalone kernel runs from ram so even without any disk installed.

That you cannot stop boot us because waiting time is set to zero.

The strange thing is that the system only reboots when there is no disk connected. When I connect the disks, the whole kernel is loaded and the system does not reboot.

What is the output in the serial interface with disk connected?

Re: no ip address, unable to access the NAS

Postby fvdw » Mon Jun 26, 2023 1:24 pm

Note, that the system reboots when no disk is installed could be because the lacie firmware in nand is designed to install firmware on a empty disk. If it doesn't find a disk I can imagine that it reset the nas.

The output with disks shows that now the firmware is loaded from disk and the system starts. What I don't see is if the network interface comes up.

When the system has booted and you press enter on serial console, do you get a command prompt? If so give the command
Code: Select all
ifconfig

And post output

I already tried with ifconfig, but I can't get an output! this is because it asks me to enter login and password to access the shell.
but if I insert a formatted disk? could anything change?

I see, no putting in an formatted or unformatted disk without lacie firmware will cause the nand lacie firmware being loaded which will then initialize the disk and copy firmware to it.

Do you a pc running linux?

Another question, can you connect to the lacie webinterface when lacie firmware is loaded from disk. Ip could be retrieved from router client list or using lacie assistant that runs under windows

In no case can I connect to the web interface. With the disks disconnected, I find the IP address of the Nas in the devices connected to the modem. With Disk, nas is not detected by the modem.I have not downloaded lacie assistant
