no ip address, unable to access the NAS

Re: no ip address, unable to access the NAS

uboot sets manually an ip address. The fact that window changes after waiting for uboot with message starting uboot console press enter proves that the pc has had contact with the nas and received output.
When pressing enter a command is sent to the nas using a tool called nc to enter interactive mode. It seems the commands form nc are not reaching your nas.

Do you have more network cards in your PC? For example a cable connection and wireless.
If so disable the wireless adapter

I've tried so many times, but nothing changes. Is there a way to access u-boot via serial cable? in this way, I could set an IP to the NAS and upload everything.
some time ago I had done the reset as described on the Lacie website, but even that didn't seem to work

Yes there is serial port but you will need to disassemble the nas to get to it.

The 5big2 has two lan ports, did you use lan1?

disassembling the nas is not a problem, i have already changed the capacitors.
I tested with both LAN ports

You will need a 232 ttl cable 3.3 Volt. There are usb to 232 ttl cables on the market be sure to use one that uses 3.3V on nas side as 5V will damage your mainboard.

I need to check my archive how to connect

yellow = pin 8 is tx
black = pin 7 is rx
white = pin 2 is gnd

(red = pin1 is supplying 3.3v , only needed when your adapter needs 3.3 v. Normally usb tot 3.3 ttl cable do not use this cable, they use an internal volatage convertor to make 3.3 v from 5 V usb)

This is the first time that an ip address has been assigned to the nas 192.168.1.112
There seems to be something wrong, after it starts booting it restarts itself

now i connected all disks.

Code: Select all
Hit any key to stop autoboot: 0

I can't stop booting. Also I can get an ip address only if the hard drives are all unplugged.
