Now I'm using the 18-1 version of July 29, 2019. I attach the photo of the box, it should be the 5big.

It is a 5big2, you should select the kirkwood standalone kernel

ok ok, sorry I didn't realize it was the Kirkwood version.
ok now I have:
- completely deactivated the firewall on the PC,
- I put on air mode
- Connected the NAS with the cable to the PC.
- FVDW-SL remains with the writing waiting for u-boot
- the front light remains fixed blue
- the rear lights are all off
- Windows doesn't recognize the network, it sends packets but doesn't receive one.
I tried to connect the NAS to the modem and redo the firmware installation procedure, but this time it says telnet refused.

....but this time it says telnet refused

So it doesn't mention "connection timed out", correct?

Did you use the correct login credentials?
User: root
Password: giveit2me
Note do not use capitals in linux user and passwords are case sensetive.

If you did that correct and connection is still refused then it could be that the kernel is not ready yet with initializing the device. Did you remove all disks and leave only one in most lefthand slot seen from the back?

yes, the connection refused it says it when the NAS is connected to the modem and I try to install the firmware. connection time-out when the NAS is directly connected to the pc.
I tried leaving only the first disk connected.
It's not asking me to login anywhere at the moment.
Always connection refused.

I am confused, what option did you choose in fvdw-sl console?

Oke
Be sure your pc and nas are connected to your router and that dhcp server of your router uses as ip pool 192.168.1.xxx.

Start the install firmware option and select the kirkwood standalone kernel.
After the window "waiting for uboot" pops up do you see in the uboot window that the kernel is uploaded and that it mentions starting kernel?
