You don't need 5big2-sc1.img if you follow the directions given.
The glp code won't help you as it contains source code which needs to be compiled. What you need are partition images of a higher lacie firmware version. The procedure to install is the same as described above. Or as alternative you could install the supplied version and use a lacie capsule file to upgrade it to a higher version
