After having a few issues that I eventually resolved I was able to install fvdw on my 5Big Network2. However, once I get to the step in the instructions to reboot the NAS and connect to it I'm not able to connect. fvdw-sl assistant is unable to find the NAS and using advanced IP scanner doesn't find anything else on the network. For reference I've created a basic LAN with just my laptop and the NAS connected to an old D-Link router with nothing else connected. The D-Link is handing out a DHCP address to my laptop fine. All of my other network adapters besides my ethernet adapter are disabled on my laptop.
At first, I had all 5 HDD bays loaded with hard drives but after reading several other posts on here I realized I was supposed to only have one drive in the left-most bay (bay 1). I reinstalled with only that one HDD installed and still had the same issues. I decided maybe the hard drive was bad (although all 5 HDDs are brand new) so I went through and tried installing the firmware on each one of the 5 HDDs one at a time in the left bay one drive only each time and still got the same results. I tried taking one of the drives and connecting it to a PC with an external HDD dock and deleted all the partitions that the installation had created and tried it again. Still no luck.
I found this: http://plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=3361&start=10 thread here and started following along with the troubleshooting steps listed there. I seemed to have a very similar issue to them. No boot.log file but my installer.log was slightly different (I can post that here if need be). Going down that path I redownloaded the .rar files again and unzipped them in a different place and installed again for what felt like the 100th time. Still have the same results the NAS doesn't seem to ever get a DCHP address and may never be actually booting up fully.
At this point I don't know what else to do and I really need some help. I appreciate any help.
Thanks.
