RSYNC to FVDW firmware

RSYNC to FVDW firmware

Postby macdalor » Sun Sep 18, 2016 8:14 pm

I am trying to setup a weekly backup from a QNAP TVS471 to a Lacie5BigN2 running the FVDW firmware and although I could setup the RSYNC server fine on the Lacie side and connect to it (success msg from QNAP side), Qnap doesn't see the subfolders created in my RAID partition.
When I setup the QNAP Client side, I get a "success" message and then a "processing" one lasting forever.
Screen Shot 2016-09-18 at 22.06.52.png

From the FVDW RSYNC log I get the following
Code: Select all
2016/09/18 20:00:44 [3331] connect from Q-NAS.local (192.168.1.40)
2016/09/18 20:00:44 [3331] unknown module 'Welcometothersyncfvdwsl-baseserver' tried from Q-NAS.local (192.168.1.40)

Why do I get an "Unkown Module" message? Shouldn't it be connecting to the selected module from the FVDW Module TAB?

ps: My RSYNC server is Started & Enabled from FVDW

Thx!

Ok if you have enable the rsync server on fvdw-sl but do you have set a full access on some modules (=shares) for the user account "macdalor"

yes, this user has full access to the share and I can access the share fine via the windows file browser. I have tried creating a subfolder just in case but no success...
I've also tried with the admin-nas login and still the same...

I do not have the server in front of me as I am at work but from what I remember there are 3 options: "Read Only", "none" and "full access".

The "Full access" is selected

I don't see what I've missed...

port 873 has been opened
The user has been assigned full access to the share
RSYNC server has been enabled and started
I can connect from the client side

The only negative point is that the server shares aren't listed on client side...

:dontknow

Anything I need to do with SSH on server maybe?
