The only thing I can do is create a brand new array from the Lacie dashboard.

So after ensuring 100% that you backup all files.
You can try to create a new array.

But I forgot some important files, so I am copying again to the old "defective" drive. Just partitioned and formatted it. Works ok (did a full disk check on my laptop).

raid feature is less lenient than a standard file system. For example, if you have too many bad blocks raid will claim the disk as faulty whereas you may still use it dangerously with a standard system.
