Just because pacco doesn't have yet an unused USB disk (but later)


Inserted a 2TB usb disk, but the system does not recognize it. There are no partitions on this disk, completely wiped.

how do you see that?
the usb disk is not automatically mounted.

So post the content of /proc/partitions.

if it is missing maybe the driver is not loaded (and I think this). So post also the output of lsmod and the content of /lib/modules/3.14.2

I think also that you need update your dev nodes (Currently your sde disk is sdd in /dev)

Indeed at each reboot you must do again all previous step as you use only RAM. (=> upload udevstart, mdam, start udevstart,...)

I rebooted, uploaded mdadm, started the array, connected the usb disk and started udevstart.
Previously I uploaded mdadm, udevstart while the usb disk was connected and the array couldn't start.

Your dmesg output is it after plugging your disk ?

Yes, disk is connected to usb. Disk led is blinking.
