It's running!

The problem was your archives were made for unraring on the disc. I tried to make the image file before on PC and then to transfer it.

And ...

remember after upgrading the partition 7, you run with a system un-chrooted and so you must get as firmware version 15-2.

To check if you issue is resolved you must create a file sda1boot in /lacie-boot. Then if you get the firmware version 15-3, it will be OK

5big2 is working since a day without kernel on sdb6!

Jocko I think you had a ver ygood idea during your sleep.

Remark: fhem home autoamtion runs fine om the system.

lsusb use usbfs which is deprecated and no longer works with newer kernels.

I thought I can solve the problem by using ext3, but is still the same:

root@fvdwsl-base:/share/1000/Volume_1/fhem-5.5 # unable to initialize libusb: -99

Is that a problem of the fhem software package or can I just use a different filesystem on the stick?

your "fhem" package is using the command lsusb and that won't work anymore in new kernels, see earlier post

(and it has nothing to do with the file system on your usb disk, it has to do with the structure used to load the usb disk in the linux kernel system)

Hi matzi,

So your issue seems solved (if you have restored the sda1boot file)

Is that a problem of the fhem software package or can I just use a different filesystem on the stick?

Is not an issue about file system type on the stick but, as writing by fvdw, lsusb use usbfs which is deprecated and no longer works with newer kernels.

usbfs file system is not available with fvdw-sl
(fvdw just post it again)
