You do not need to upload that file 5big2-sc1.img

So this command can be skipped

tftp -l 5big2-sc1.img -r 5big2-sc1.img -g ip-pc

As we dont use that fille anymore

The new command echo... Replaces this

Why the webinterface doesn't work I have no idea.
Are you sure the ip is correct. In windows explorer (so not internet explore) what does this address gives as result
Code: Select all
\\192.168.1.39

If that gives a list of shared folders then ip is correct and sometning is either preventing access to the web interface (firewall?) or the web server is not running.
There are programs that can scan ip to see what services are avaible on that ip.

Ok, understand. But shouldn't I be having a file called: "LaCieFirstBootLaCie"?

Yes I am sure as I can access shares on the NAS via this address, as you detail above (windows explorer).[/quote]
Here is a list of the open ports for IP 192.168.1.39:

Open TCP Port: 80 http
Open TCP Port: 139 netbios-ssn
Open TCP Port: 443 https
Open TCP Port: 445 microsoft-ds
Open TCP Port: 548 afpovertcp
Open TCP Port: 631 ipp
Open TCP Port: 3260 iscsi-target
Open TCP Port: 4445 upnotifyp

Looks like the HTTP one is up and running...

I already tried from other browsers with the same results...

Also re-ran the procedure twice just in case I've done something wrong... :dontknow

No the command write this string to the first bytes of the disk, the echo command with pipe command supplies this as input to the dd command

Yes http is running and available on standard port 80
Https seems also available. You could try if it accepts https://192..

A 404 error mens that the webserver cannot find a file it needs to respond to the request

Try http://192.168.1.39/dashboard/

tried all mentioned above...same result both ports, https/http...but I can access the shares and the LNA sees the NAS correctly so that's weird...
It wouldn't come from the installed Lacie firmware missing something?

The firmware did work for others.

Options to try, a factory reset.
Or a setup with only one disk (most lefthand dlot seen from the back) and add the others later if everything works with one disk following lacie intructions to add disks

the factory reset didn't do anything...

Went through the procedure again with 1 drive only which seemed to fixed the dashboard error but back to square 1 where the auto update gives an error (minor because I managed to manually update) and more importantly drives aren't recognised correctly
I tried the auto mode and manual RAID0 with only 2 1tb drives but it doesn't seem to recognise the full space... see pict for details
