ps a steady blue light is a good sign, do you see any activity of the disk (led back side flickering). it might be busy with setting up the raid, if so give it some time until no further disk activity

The web interface gives me a 404 - Not Found page...

There are activity on the back & network lights so I'll follow your advice and give it some time for RAID built...

I let you know when it's done...fingers crossed :)

Finally, was the only thing what did just waiting or did you do more?

Ps are you sure that you use the correct ip for accessing the weinterface?

I just let the NAS run, it might have been configuring the RAID as you said...
The IP is the one provided by the Lacie Network Assistant, however when clicking on "web access to the dashboard" it throws a 404 - not found...

SSH access also refused but I guess this normal for the (crap) Lacie firmware

Funny :scratch

And if you enter in your broweser as address this
Code: Select all
http://192.168.1.39

It might be that the nas name is not known by the master browser in the network, then when using the name iso the ip it will not be found in the network. If using the ip doesn't work then thw web server of the lacie is not running for whatever reason

just to confirm, the end of the procedure is as follow after modifying what you've told me:

Next, a file that you need to write to beginning of disk sda
Unpack the archive in the tftp directory of the fvdw-sl console
Load the standalone kernel and connect with telnet to the 5big2

Upload the file with this command
Code:
tftp -l 5big2-sc1.img -r 5big2-sc1.img -g ip-pc

write it to sda using command
Code: Select all
echo "LaCieFirstBootLaCie" | dd  of=/dev/sda

Attachments:
File comment: file restored, previous downloads 16
5big2-sc1.zip [139 Bytes]
Downloaded 53 times

reboot your 5big2 by entering in the telnet client:
Code: Select all
reboot -f

done!

Correct?
