All Shares Gone - Lacie 5Big Network 2

the command
Code: Select all
/sbin/xfs_repair -L /dev/md4
finish in a very short time.
I investigate with the cat /proc/mounts command and now the only thing different than before is what showed in the last row
Code: Select all
/dev/mod4 /lacie/afp_db xfs rw,relatime,attr2,no quota, 0 0

peering into the directory /lacie/afp_db I found the directory /shares in which there are 5 directories, named from 1 to 5.
Inside this i found all my files and data. :-D

Now the problem is how to make the Dashboard to see all these files, or rather how to make it clear to the NAS, that these files are still in it!

As now now fs is clean on md4, a reboot should restore setup.

So reboot the NAS

Made a reboot, now my Network Disk is visible on the Dashboard, but still nothing on the Share side.

peering into the directory /lacie/afp_db I found the directory /shares in which there are 5 directories, named from 1 to 5.
that means you attempted previously to recovery data and according with the user's manual
Caution: After following these steps, all files will be moved to a folder called Recovery in Share and so by default will be available only to the administrator.

But i just look in the directory and don't make nothing else, and second if i look in the same place the share directory is disappeared!

i try to look from the root directory on share and shares, but all the directory are empty.
So i now see my network disk and the system say me that all the data are in, but don't found the path where the data are,
;)

any tips?

You misunderstand me.

I did say that it is the action to "look in the directory" but previously you try to do a reset without losing data.

I do not use the Lacie web-interface, I assume "all files will be moved to a folder called Recovery in Share and so by default will be available only to the administrator." means that you can access via the dashboard.

But maybe fvdw has a better idea

Ok but i'm sure that the data is on the NAS because i'm don't make any disruptive command.

Now with the Cat/proc/mounts the is the result

Code: Select all
[root@LaCie-5big /]# cat /proc/mounts
rootfs / rootfs rw 0 0
/dev/md0 /oldroot ext3 ro,relatime,errors=continue,data=writeback 0 0
none /oldroot/proc proc rw,relatime 0 0
none /oldroot/sys sysfs rw,relatime 0 0
udev /dev tmpfs rw,relatime,size=10240k,mode=755 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts rw,relatime,mode=600 0 0
none /dev/shm tmpfs rw,relatime 0 0
/dev/md1 /oldroot/var/original ext3 ro,relatime,errors=continue,data=writeback 0 0
/dev/md2 /oldroot/snapshots ext3 rw,relatime,errors=continue,data=writeback 0 0
unionfs / unionfs rw,relatime,dirs=/oldroot/snapshots/snaps/00=rw:/oldroot/var/original=ro 0 0
proc /proc proc rw,relatime 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs rw,relatime 0 0
/dev/md2 /var ext3 rw,relatime,errors=continue,data=writeback 0 0
/dev/md2 /tmp ext3 rw,relatime,errors=continue,data=writeback 0 0
/dev/md2 /bin ext3 rw,relatime,errors=continue,data=writeback 0 0
/dev/md2 /sbin ext3 rw,relatime,errors=continue,data=writeback 0 0
/dev/md2 /lib ext3 rw,relatime,errors=continue,data=writeback 0 0
/dev/md2 /usr ext3 rw,relatime,errors=continue,data=writeback 0 0
/dev/md2 /www ext3 rw,relatime,errors=continue,data=writeback 0 0
usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs rw,relatime,devgid=85,devmode=664 0 0
/dev/md4 /media/internal_1 xfs rw,nosuid,nodev,relatime,attr2,nobarrier,allocsize=4096k,usrquota,prjquota,grpquota 0 0

/dev/md4 /lacie/var xfs rw,nosuid,nodev,relatime,attr2,nobarrier,allocsize=4096k,usrquota,prjquota,grpquota 0 0
/dev/md4 /lacie/torrent_dir xfs rw,nosuid,nodev,relatime,attr2,nobarrier,allocsize=4096k,usrquota,prjquota,grpquota 0 0
/dev/md4 /lacie/autoupdate xfs rw,nosuid,nodev,relatime,attr2,nobarrier,allocsize=4096k,usrquota,prjquota,grpquota 0 0
/dev/md4 /lacie/afp_db xfs rw,nosuid,nodev,relatime,attr2,nobarrier,allocsize=4096k,usrquota,prjquota,grpquota 0 0
nfsd /proc/fs/nfsd nfsd rw,relatime 0 0
tmpfs /tmp/samba tmpfs rw,relatime 0 0
[root@LaCie-5big /]#

and obviously we have more and more mount point on the dev4 side.
Still missing the Share.

What is information displayed on the dashboard-shares

By default you should have the shares "Share" and "Public"

I already post the screenshot. On the dashboard-shares (Condivisione in italian), the result is 0 Share.
The difference after all these attempts is that now I can add any share from the dashboard, the button is no longer gosthed.

So try to create a share "Public" and reboot the NAS.

Then on a shell window post this output
Code: Select all
mount
ls -al /shares
