Last night I disabled MiniDLNA, rebooted, and did nothing no more, this morning the IS still runs.
some checks i did:

Windows 7 pc
-no network discovery.
-accessable directly by IP and DNS.
-the IS shows up in iTunes, files are visible and playable.

I do not use NFS, Logitech has been installed but not enabled and or configured.

Will keep a closer eye to it.

if it is accessible via IP and DNS then windows7 should be able to discover it. I also see this now and then after wakening the pc from standby that a nas is not found in netwerk by windows7. After rebooting windows7 it comes back. I guess this has to do with windows7

There is alternative way to let windows7 search he network
make a windows7 a folder with name
Code: Select all
network.{208D2C60-3AEA-1069-A2D7-08002B30309D}

Opening that folder will list all computers in the network workgroup where the windows PC is, you will also get a possibility to browse "entire network" This will show other workgroups found

Yep indeed win7 has some issues in discovering network devices after wake up, that I already knew and used to live with.
Thanks for sharing the alternative search, did not came across that one before :-)

Besides the win7 network discovery, it seems disabling the MiniDLNA last night did something.
My IS is still running and I am capable to browse it and doing file movements through several clients simultaneously.

My IS is still up and running without probs. So it seems that the miniDLNA might cause some probs.
