problem with backup the original system partitions

hi, it´s me again :)

i´m triying to backup my original system partitions, but in the page 5 on the guide it says only partitions 6 7 8 and 9 are usefull to backup but our partitions are only 1 to 7 so what can i do???

it´s an error in the guide or what?

I assume you use the guide prepared by Johan
On page 4 it mentions indeed only 7 partitions.
I do not have an original isp1 disk so I can't tell.
If you have the same table as mentioned in the guide of johan then
I would backup only sdb1, sdb5, sdb6, sdb7. And if you hdd files stored on the isp1 disk then also sdb3 if you want to keep those. All other partitions can be recreated without backup
sdb3 is the original big data partition of the lacie isp1 containing shared files.
sdb4 is an extended partition containing sdb5, 6 and 7 no need to back up sdb4

Do not have a complete backup set, only have sda6 at this moment.
Did erase all other backups after having upgraded succesfully.

In case of an emergency, I could arrange getting a full original backup, but that takes some time.
A friend of mine has an "untouched IS" he is not a power user and still using windows XP so no special need to upgrade yet.

but then... if i do a backup of these partitions whats the way to restore? need i to create all the partition table before?and the restore some partitions with my images, is this right?

and the best way to do a total backup? i try with clonezilla but it nor recognize partition 4 and other ones

triying with norton ghost but this one clone partitions individually.....

I really have no Linux experience, waht I know I learned upgrading my IS.
I think you have to recreate the partition table and then use the dd command to restore your backup files.
