This can only happen if the partition are too small. In fdisk you should be sure it is displaying sectors and not cylinders. Some versions of fdisk seem to come up with cylinders while our guide refers to sectors (you can change this mode in fdiks by using -u option that toggles between sectors and cylinders

Indeed the guide refers to cylinders

However the size of your cylinders is about 8 times smaller then on a "normal" disk.
Yours are only 1048576 bytes while in the guide we assume cylinders of 8225280 bytes
Don't know who formatted it but it is a non standard settings.
Most hard disk have settings like 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, yours has 64 heads and 32 sectors/track

If you want to keep those settings you need to multiple the cylinders needed for each partition with a factor 8
so for sda1 start at cylinder 1 and end cylinder will be 256,
sda2 start 257 end 512,
sda3 513 768,
sda 4 769 57231,
sda5 769 1152,
sda6 1153 1160,
sda7 1161 1416,
sda8 1417 57321

As in your case a cylinder is 1048576 bytes this will give a sda1, sda2 and sda7 partitions of about 256 MB, sda3 384 MB, sda6 8 MB and sda8 58 GB

ok, lot of thanks

its possible thats the difference it´s because its 2,5" ?

however i´ll follow your instructions as soon as possible and i´ll keep you informed

another question ihave the original internet space space with his fw, but in this case there are two folders and one for my with 725 gb and other, i don,t know where with 275 gb for public users

i want to formated this disk but i don´t know how can I delete the public partition and keep 1g all for me, but in the web server i can´t formate the disc or resize the limit, any ideas??
i have the manual, but nothing about formated or resized, it´s possible if i reset the unit and reconfigured all?
i am looking for the original cd ....

That the settings for head and cylinders are different I don't know. The setting you have is more for smaller disks.

About the original hard disk of you isp1 . Our guide describes how to make a backup and make a new partition table and format it. The Lacie partition structure cannot be used with our firmware. If you want to keep the content of the big data partition where all you data was you have to make a backup and put ti back later when fvdw-sl is running in a shared folder.
I do not use original Lacie firmware for isp1 so I don't know whats possible and what not in the original firmware of Lacie
