Plex Media Server - Firmware 18.2

Hi everyone,

First of all, thank you for the amazing job you're doing, that allowed me to resurrect and transcend my old Lacie ISP1!
I installed the latest version of the firmware (18.2), and now I'm trying to understand how to install a Plex add-on.
I noticed that the previous topic opened in 2017 is closed, so I created a new one.

In the add-on section of the forums, it's written that the Plex add-on is only necessary for previous versions of the firmware (<15.3) and that the script should be now implemented in the firmware image.
However despite my efforts, I'm unable to find it in the NAS interface.
Could you help me?

Best regards!

Log in via ssh and execute
Code: Select all
plexmediaserver

See text in plexmediaserver addon for more info how to set it up. You only do not need to download and install the addon containing the plexmefia script, that is already included in latest firmware

Thank you, your reply allowed me to go a little bit further.
I'm sorry, I'm a total newbie with this.
I try to read every help text of the interface and as many forums post as possible to not ask silly questions, but once again I'm facing a wall.

Things I've done so far :
1 - installed PuTTY on my computer, access to the root of my NAS
2 - executed "plexmediaserver plugout-login yourlogin:password" (with my login and my password)
also executed "plexmediaserver"
both resulted at some point with
Code: Select all
/usr/bin/plexmediaserver: line 113: /opt/bin/gnutar: not found

The first command resulted with "OK: Save login credentials"
The second command with usage commands for plexmediaserver (install, update, etc)

3 - executed "plexmediaserver install"
Here is the result :

Code: Select all
Install python addons

I don't know if the problem come from the fact it can't find "line 113: /opt/bin/gnutar", or if it comes from my device.
Hoping you can help me.

Regards!

Thank you!
Plex is now installed, the plex server seems to work (i can manage the web server, it runs correctly) but i can't try it yet because the iOs app refuses to connect to this version of the server software. I will try to find an old client software and test it on my computer, but I think i should forget a smartphone use. :sob
