ok Johan, done with pleasure

the advantage is that the internet space has a larger amount of RAM that might improve performance ;)

YES it runs.

It succesfully booted on the 3rd boot attempt, after that every boot following upon powerdown/-up goes perfectly.
(1st and 2nd boot attempt, were accompanied with beeps and disk spin-up and spin-down cycles)

Installed firmware version: 1.2.9.fw fvdw-sl 8.1.beta1
LaCie-IS500.jpg

Am moving data on it as we speak, its looking great so far.

Have no need for any special features so far, just file storage/backup.
Downloading is being handled by an Synology NAS running SabNZBd+.

Thanks for all support so far.
Will go and document it all, these kind of things are not done daily, :? not by me anyway.

Hi Johan72,

Glad that you succeeded to install the firmware. :)
Ok, you go to use the NAS for backup but feedback is interesting about the features that run wrong with the IS500.

Jocko,
You've got a point there, the least I can do in return is a full feature test, and share the results.
Should I post the results here? Or maybe it's better to start a new topic/thread specially for the InternetSpace?
I'm going to make an installation manual, in a few weeks I will customise my 2nd IS500 aswell.
