Disable SMB1 grey out

Disable SMB1 grey out

Postby spidercat » Thu Aug 01, 2019 9:27 am

Hi,

I would like to disable SMBv1 and use SMB3 to reach my NAS from a Windows 10 client.
I understand that SMB4 is available only as an add-on and only for contributors but SMB3 should be usable for everyone.
When "Use native samba version (3.0.37)" is selected there is no way to uncheck "Enable smb1 protocol". Is there a way to do that?
Many thanks

Hi spidercat,

I am sorry but version 3.0.37 does not support smb3 (and also smb2) , only version 4 supports it and with the native version there is no way to implement this feature.

To get samba 4 on our firmware, we needed to spend time and make a lot of changes on it, so we reserve the new feature only for donators

hi,
"To get samba 4 on our firmware, we needed to spend time and make a lot of changes on it, so we reserve the new feature only for donators"

but i belive is a good policy, add txt in the fw, (addon reserve to donors).

i will enter to donor list, in a short time, because, the work deserve €..

kkkk i just burn out 3 hours, a few dead brains cells... due to windows and smb1/4
i did enable smb1 in win11, but isnt not a good ideia.

i keep having "Fail: can not retrieve the package (-99)" even after the last pacht"fvdw-sl-18-2-patch05-10feb2022.zip "

cheers

Did you enter your credentials in system setup firmware interface menu?
See https://plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3224

If yes, maybe you tried to access the package before we added you to the donators group. Try again you are now member from donators group
