Hi,
In order to be able to install fvdw I installed the Original software from LaCie to get my Network Space 2 Classic going but I can't login even though I have reset it. admin/admin isn't working. Anyone got an idea? Thanks in advance.

Hi after a week playing with the NAS I solved the problem by using XP from VirtualBox with firewall switched off instead of directly from Windows 10. Works OK!!!

Sorry I overlooked your post
What works ok now doppie? :scratch

To install fvdw-sl you don't need to have lacie firmware on it, even an empty disk is ok.

Hi fvdw, thank you for your reply. Because I was using Windows 10 I wasn't able to get anything going )-; . Then I switched to XP and now fvdw is working fine. Another thank you for the great work you have done on the OS for the NAS.

Hello fvdw, I couldn't get the installation of fvdw going. Once installed I am able to use Windows 10 to access the NAS. I did try to add some programs to the firewall but fvdw-sl couldn't detect the NAS. Then I used XP with switched off firewall and everything installed smoothly.

I case this would help someone I also had problems with Windows 10. U-boot was never finding the NAS in boot. I even tried Ubuntu virtual with clunc with no luck. I had disabled the firewall in win10 and the IP of the NAS was set in router DHCP. Finally I tried a Vista virtual which i had also and disabled the firewall there. Then I got things going :)

with windows 10 I had 2 problems:
1) I used a standard account, not an administrative account. In some cases Windows doesn't ask to open the firewall ports.
2) Windows later than XP sends broadcast packets (clunc open) only to one (the first) active ethernet interface.

I am about to do the same thing. I have my trusty ol' XP Laptop, and a blank 1TB drive and my NS2. All apps downloaded and install. Can you please share a brief step by step on how to do this.
